Indiana man killed, two teenagers wounded after grenade found inside grandfather’s belongings explodes


Law enforcement officers in Lake County, Indiana, stated a man was killed, and his two teenaged kids had been injured after a reside grenade in a grandfather’s belongings detonated.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department stated officers responded to stories of an explosion in Lake of the Four Seasons at about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Investigators discovered {that a} household was going by way of a grandfather’s belongings at a house on Lakeshore Drive once they found a grenade.

When police arrived, a 47-year-old man, later recognized as Bryan Niedert of Lake of Four Seasons, was found unresponsive and later died.

His two kids, an 18-year-old feminine and 14-year-old male, had been taken to a close-by hospital to be handled for shrapnel wounds.
